Millennium Film Workshop is honored to host the world premiere of the first feature-length animated film, seven years in the making, from multidisciplinary artist Preston Spurlock:

Independent animated features are a rare bird, and those made by the hand of a single artist, rarer still, but even among a very limited cohort, Songs of the Vineyard is a unique achievement. There’s really nothing quite like it. Spurlock introduces us to a crew of bizarre characters, each one brought to life by voices sourced from found junk shop audio cassettes. Woven together over an easy listening soundtrack (also found audio, and the source of the film’s unusual title), they talk to the audience, to each other, often to themselves, and the subject matter, remixed, rewired and recontextualized takes on a kaleidoscopic effect, like Soviet montage theory bumping up…
